Daycare Drop-off
While you know your dog is about to have a great time, he/she doesn't know what's in store. He/she will pick up on your behavior, which tells him if he/she should be happy, sad, excited, or anxious. Staying calm will do wonders for your dog, making them feel better and calmer.
The less time you spend saying goodbye to your pup, the more time they will have to settle into his new environment and start having fun!
Returning Home
Today has been a very busy day for your dog. He is so busy that he probably hasn't eaten, slept, or had a drink. And probably too preoccupied to go potty! We always provide water and offer food at naptime if requested. Also, we change up their routine throughout the day by walking your dog every two hours.
When your dog gets home, do not overfeed him or let him drink a lot of water. Too much food and water may lead to vomiting. Offer your pup their regular meal, and he will be back on schedule in no time at all.
Like people who start a new exercise routine, dogs can expect physical changes in their bodies and feel overwhelmed. Some owners have expressed concern that their dog gets diarrhea after daycare. Your pup is experiencing exercise-induced diarrhea and may be too tired to eat or drink after the first day, which is entirely normal. When you provide the exercise your dog needs, he will be happier and healthier. Your dog will adjust quickly, depending on how often he visits daycare.
Doggie Daycare Concerns
Socialization
Playing hard is a lot of fun, and dogs can sometimes get a little too rough. Scratches, wet fur, and looking dirty. But that's all part of being a dog. All dogs go through a behavioral test before being allowed into rooms with other animals. Just like people, some dogs don't get along with others.
Occasionally pups get startled when they play, which triggers their instinct to be more aggressive than usual.
Injuries
Our highly trained staff closely supervises all dogs to prevent injuries. We'll notify you if an injury occurs. We take prevention seriously to ensure your dog has a safe and enjoyable time during their stay with us.
Sore feet are also common in dogs who haven't been outside much. Sore paws result from running and jumping on concrete surfaces rather than grass and carpet, like they have at home. If you notice blisters forming, try applying an antiseptic spray to prevent infection. Eventually, your dog will develop tougher paw pads.
Exposure to Illness
Like a daycare for children, your dog will encounter unfamiliar smells, play styles, breeds, ages, and sizes. Dogs have a risk of exposure to airborne viruses and bacteria. However, the chance of exposure is no greater than at the dog park, vet's office, pet store, or local park. We clean and sanitize our floors, toys, and water buckets to keep your pet safe every day to help prevent illness.
Kennel Cough
Kennel cough is a common illness sometimes affects dogs who go to daycare or in stay at a boarding facility. Like the common cold, the virus spreads through air or contact with another canine. All dogs at daycare are required to have the Bordetella vaccine to help prevent kennel cough; however, there are many strains of virus that the vaccine doesn't cover.
Kennel's cough will typically clear up in a week or two. If the cough lingers longer than two weeks, your vet has a treatment available to clear up any remaining symptoms. Your pup will be back to its usual self and feel much better in no time!
Daycare is a supervised playtime for you dog. They can come in and play from 7am to 7pm for the day. In the nice weather we play outside, otherwise we utilize 3 large play areas with play equipment.
Our pet clients go home tired, but happy that they made friends!
I regret to inform you that, due to the terms of my current home insurance policy, I am unable to have guests in my house. The policy specifically excludes coverage for any incidents or liabilities that may arise from having non-residents on the premises. This exclusion means that, in the event of an accident or damage while a guest is present, I would be personally responsible for all associated costs, which could potentially be significant.
To ensure that I am in compliance with my insurance policy and to avoid any undue financial risk, I must adhere strictly to this stipulation. I hope you understand the necessity of this precaution and the reasons behind it.
This why I send multiple videos and photos throughout the day so you know how they are doing. I have a dog room made specifically for them but otherwise they are inside and outside with me and only separated when it's feeding time. When they first come over I spend the first 30 mins letting them getting use to me and new environment an only introduce one dog every 30 mins my process is very slow.
